WHAT IS CAP CAMP MALIBU ALL ABOUT you wonder???

We invite all CAP kids, their famillies and our CAP adult friends to our third annual Children's Alopecia Project (CAP) kid camp in California!! CAP's mission is to build self esteem in kids with alopecia, we bring support to the families and we raise alopecia awareness. We have 45 supportgroups in and even outside the USA and we organize fun events for our CAP kids where they can be themselves :) 

Besides doing lots of fun camp activities, we feel it is of great value to have inspiring rolemodels, so that is where the CAP mentors come in :) All CAP mentors have alopecia, whether it is areata, totalis, universalis or diffuse alopecia. Some have regrowth, others don't. Some live bald, some wear hairpieces, some prefer scarves, some change it up :) What we try to instill in the kids is this: we embrace you no matter how much, how little or no hair or regrowth you have and whatever your personal choice is to deal with that! The goal is to be happy with who you are, so do whatever makes you feel most as you! BeYOUtiful! 

We are extremely lucky and excited to have the following CAP mentors confirmed to join us at camp for lots of interaction with the kids: Lindsay Hannah, Anthony Carrigan, Annette Abbick Thompson, Kevin Bull, Georgia Van Cuylenburg, Joe Gatt, Heather Curtis, Usua Amanam, Margaret H Baker, Kylie Bamberger, Angie Tozier Bryan, Jannica Olin and of course our own NorCal CAP co-leader & CAP mentor Lisa Lefkowitz. All of the mentors are very compassionate about CAP and donate their time and skills to hang out with our kids and truly feel very inspired by the kids as well!

We will stay at Gilmore Camp, in Malibu Creek State Park. This camp is a part of the Salvation's Army Mt. Crags & Gilmore Camp & Conference Center in Calabasas http://campmtcrags.com/ Located in the heart of Malibu Canyon, this camp provides life changing experiences with various activities on site in the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains. We are of course also just a short car ride away from the world famous Malibu beaches! 

If you were there for one or both of the earlier CAP kid California camps, you already know you don't want to miss it ;) If you have never been.. Here is your chance!! Beautiful surroundings, lots of fun, the most genuine and wonderful CAP families, old & new friends, and don’t forget our many amazing rolemodels for the kids! 

Each CAP kid needs to be accompanied by at least 1 adult, but the whole family is welcome. CAP kids and kids 4yo and younger are free. Other attendees pay $250, which includes 2 nights of sleeping in beds in cabins, 6 meals, all activities and hanging out with all these amazing CAP mentors! Bring your own linen or rent it at camp for $10 pp. Register before January 1st to secure your spots as prices will go up starting January 2nd!
